Growing up, one of the coolest things imaginable to me was the concept of other alien life forms existing somewhere else in the universe.  They could look something like us and live a similar life, or be completely different and have technologies not even imaginable to our human brains.  It was always fun to dream of these things and the stories about alien sightings around the world and throughout history just helped fuel the fire.

The Alien Sightings Chronicle will be a place for me to revisit this fascination with alien life.  I’m going to look back at the most famous sightings throughout history to see some of the eerie details I may have forgotten or was previously unable to find without the help of the internet.  In addition, I’ll see if there have been some recent alien sightings worth noting and look to see, on the more scientific side of things, what we are doing to actively look for alien life on planets and in corners of space other than our own.  Lastly, there’s a small chance I will try writing some fiction (labeled as such) that records some alien encounters I dream up while reading about past events.

One of the things I love most about the subjects of aliens, UFOs, and anything related to extraterrestrials is that it is still impossible for us to say what is true and what isn’t.  Although a lot of the stories that have popped up throughout history have seemed very fake, the idea of extraterrestrials coming to our planet still seems to captivate us.  Also, looking into these things makes you realize how little we know about the universe around us.  We like to let ourselves think that we have an impressive grasp of space and time (and this might be true compared to the past), but there is still so much more to learn.  If the universe is in fact infinite (at least in the way we perceive infinite) then the mysteries held within it could be infinite.  If you ask me, this is nothing but a good thing because the excitement and mystery felt in the search for new life is exhilarating.

I hope you enjoy reading anything I post and please let me know if there’s something interesting I should look into.  I hadn’t really thought about alien and UFO sightings for years until I started reading about some of the more complex (at least for me) things going on in the world of physics.  Quantum mechanics, Einstein’s theory of relativity, and string theory definitely have a way of initiating some interesting thoughts; and for me that happens to include aliens.
